What Happens When Your Family is Your Worst Enemy

My mother is so jealous of anyone who is successful that she would sabotage them to keep them from succeeding. My sister is like my mother and is very jealous of our own sisters. Only because I have a distance myself from them have I been able to achieve my goals in life. When you have a disability you do not have the credit to secure loans to build your business. So you have to get creative in getting finances to grow your business. Now with the Internet you can grow your business on a minimal amount of income.

For the last few years I have worked with the nonprofit fundraising by going business-to-business and doing a lot of walking. I finally have a contract with an organization as an independent contractor presenting webinars and making $300 an hour. It is just that it takes time to market classes and because this is the end of the year it will probably be several months before I start having a steady income from presenting webinars. I was able to secure this position because I have a radio show called Live Without Limits on a blog talk radio. As a disabled American I have had to struggle just to keep the roof over my head. Even though we have the American With Disabilities Act companies to do not hire people with disabilities. In the late 20th century when the econmy was going good and companies had positions to fill they never once looked to the disability community. Instead they looked to other countries to hire people.

To compesate we have to look for alternatives. Self-employment is an alternative. But in there lies another obstacle. Because people with disabilities do not have a chance to build their credit they can not qualify for loans or grants to finance starting a business.

I have been self-employed for 25 years. I own my own company and assist startup companies with personal coaching. It has taken me a long time to get to this point. But because it is December the contract will not start uintil the New Year.

I am looking for help finantially until I can put contracts into place. My goal is to start a foundation to help disabled people who want to start their own business . This business would assist them with mentoring and low-cost loans. I am looking to raise funds to start this foundation. DISABILITY RIGHTS

Society over the years has not changed its attitude towards its disability community. People with disabilities still live on the periphery of life. Even though there are laws on the books gaurenteeing disabled people the right to an education school systems do not comply. For example, making the environment adaptable to the individual. Making sure if a computer would help this student to learn better then providing it.

The Americans With Disabilities Act was writen to gaurentee people with Disabilities the right to gainful employment. Although the doors are open to some extent under this law there is still discrimination. This law gives the individual the right to sue when they feel they are being discriminated against but you still have to prove the discrimination before you can file a lawsuit. This law has been in effect for 14 years. Because of some of the lawsuits, byt people who were not meant to be covered by this law, some of its original ,eaning has been changed or diluted.

The only way people with disabilities will be truly accepted is by changing societies attitudes. The only way to accomplish that is education of the population at large about the different causes of disabilities, how it affects the individual, and learning how to work alongside someone with a disability without fear.
